TrustPoint assisted a community hospital system with the planning and implementation of an entirely new IT infrastructure and operational support. The client hospital was previously a member of a larger health system and had to develop the necessary infrastructure and operational support of a now totally independent system.
Our team worked with the client hospital and a 3rd party managed services provider to design and deploy a hosted infrastructure solution that contemplated application and data availability requirements while balancing operational support requirements that were previously managed by the parent organization. The recommended strategy was to strike the appropriate balance of on-premise and outsourced managed services that met the client’s budget and service level goals.
The result was the successful design and implementation of a new Epic EMR and supporting clinical application architecture. This solution leveraged a trusted partner for hosting of the EMR, ancillary clinical applications and ERP infrastructure for 400 physicians and over 2,500 support staff across multiple locations. Service management was developed from the ground up and the entire solution was made successful by leveraging the best available options for outsourcing and managed services hosting. Geography, timing and funding prohibited an expensive data center build-out that necessitated identification of a suitable partner and developing a support model that provided the best value despite being remotely managed.
