An academic medical center client has implemented various point solutions for specific mission critical applications, but it does not have a comprehensive strategy and plan for business continuity and disaster recovery. Prior investments in BC/DR solutions were determined solely by the IT department without engagement of the broader organization.
TrustPoint provided the organization with an assessment of their current BC/DR infrastructure footprint and capabilities as well as recommendations for remediation activities. TrustPoint also assisted the organization with rationalizing multiple disparate application inventories and engaging key stakeholders throughout the organization to prioritize the BC/DR investments and activities.
The output of the infrastructure assessments and application portfolio rationalization and prioritization efforts are being aligned and sequenced with the organization’s existing project portfolio and strategic EHR replacement plans. An integrated business continuity, high availability, and disaster recovery strategy is being developed with timelines and resource requirements – both human and capital.
